How To Start Compiring

Meeting 24.11.2010 - A Perfect Day

This month 's meeting of GDL has been deserted for nearly half the group: among the sick, unable and forgetful at the beginning of the evening there were only eight people, to whom were then added two late.
this month's book has been highly successful since it's like almost everyone here.
The thing that struck everyone was the fact that it seemed to read a story typical of those that can be found in the newspaper or hear on television at the beginning and this has almost discouraged some people, because we are so bombarded with bad news than having also read a book like this looked too much!
Going forward, however, the story was exciting and although the subject matter was not pleasant, the author was able to talk about it calmly, has masterfully woven the lives of characters emblematic of our time (the violent policeman, the policy on the wane, the young alternative that rejects his origins, his wife, rich, beautiful and bored, etc..), and cut their typical day, capturing all the nuances.
The book winds down the twenty-four hours that make up a day: the events of the characters, who at first seemed unrelated to each other, gradually revealing their ties with each other and follow each other in an ever tighter until come to a tragic end when the cop, abandoned by his wife and haunted by her memory, decides to take life for his children.
Some of us did not like the subject matter, such as Piero, others have found the book too obsessive as Lina had already seen the film and perhaps was influenced by this fact. After
discussion of the book, we went ahead with the selection of books to read in the coming months from March 2011 until the summer, some authors have proposed titles read during the five years of the GDL and we are so successful to draw up a shortlist of four books that will keep us busy until the middle of next year. The evening then ended
undertone, with a heated debate about the advisability of making public statements made in a private setting and we are so passionate to the topic that we forgot to exchange greetings, and the next appointment such provision for the last Wednesday of January with the book "Divine Secrets of the Ya - Ya Sisterhood . Happy Holidays to all
